Trump Reportedly “Furious” With Defense Team’s Performance

Fox New’s Kevin Corke reported yesterday that Donald Trump is “furious” with how his defense team performed during Tuesday’s appearance before the Senate.

Confirming the report from two sources, Corke said, “Two sources in fact, who spent time with the former president today described him as being quote, ‘furious and beyond angry’ with his impeachment defense team.”

On Tuesday, Castor gave a 45 min. speech before the Senate, where he argued against the constitutionality of the impeachment trial.

Here is the speech in its entirety.

Corke went on to say in his report, “Trump was especially upset with attorney Bruce Castor, as you pointed out for his quotes, rambling opening argument. The former president spending the day watching the trial from inside his private quarters at Mar-A-Lago, no golf with the very same plan for tomorrow.”

The addition of Castor is a relatively new development. Last month, it was reported that Trump’s lawyers had parted ways just weeks before the impeachment trials.

“Multiple reports are confirming that Butch Bowers and Deborah Barbier, top lead attorneys for the case, have both bowed out of the upcoming court battle. In addition, Josh Howard from North Carolina, and South Carolina lawyers Johnny Gasser and Greg Harris have also left the team.”

During his opening speech, Castor said, “I consider it a privilege to represent the 45th President. The strength of our Constitution is about to be tested like never before in our history. It is strong and resilient. A document written for the ages, and it will triumph over partisanship yet again, and always.”
