Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced a nationwide and international ad campaign on Monday night. The multimillion-dollar initiative aims to warn prospective illegal immigrants against entering the United States unlawfully. Noem’s message was unequivocal: “If you are considering entering America illegally, don’t even think about it.”

The campaign, as detailed by Noem on social media, seeks to reach both domestic and international audiences. It will utilize various platforms, including radio, broadcast, and digital media, to disseminate its message. The Department of Homeland Security elaborated that the ads would be “hyper-targeted,” employing social media, text messages, and digital channels to connect with illegal immigrants within the U.S. and abroad.

In an accompanying video, Noem delivered a stern warning:

“Let me deliver a message from President Trump to the world. If you are considering entering America illegally, don’t even think about it. Let me be clear. If you come to our country and you break our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome in the United States.”

She emphasized the administration’s commitment to reversing what she described as years of “weak leadership” that left borders “wide open,” leading to issues like drug trafficking and violent crime. “Under President Trump, we are defending American families and restoring their safety,” Noem asserted.

The campaign’s launch coincides with recent actions taken by the administration to address illegal immigration. Earlier in February, members of the Tren de Aragua gang were transported to Guantanamo Bay, a move Noem described as ensuring that “Guantanamo Bay will hold the worst of the worst.” Additionally, border czar Tom Homan highlighted a significant reduction in border crossings, noting a decrease to 229 encounters in a 24-hour period, a stark contrast to previous figures exceeding 11,000 daily under the prior administration.
