This week, a new image of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in blackface has surfaced, causing problems for the 49-year old leader.
As reported by the Telegraph, “The unverified photograph shows a younger Mr. Trudeau wearing a white turban and robe with his face, neck and hands coated in dark brown or black makeup.” The Telegraph went on to say, “It was released on Twitter by Canada Proud, an anti-Trudeau campaign group, as Canadians cast their votes in an election that has proved an uphill battle for the 49-year-old prime minister.”

It’s time to end the international embarrassment. Only Erin O’Toole can stop Justin Trudeau. pic.twitter.com/FcghmzKNEf

This isn’t the first time Canada’s Prime Minister has been caught in blackface. In 2019, he apologized for a different incident when a different photo of him in blackface emerged. Of that incident, Trudeau said it was “obviously, this is deeply regrettable. I’m wary of being definitive about this because the recent pictures that came out I had not remembered. And I think the question is, how could you not remember that?”
