In a recent development, Dana Loesch, a well-known national radio host and former spokesperson for the National Rifle Association, has strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s comments regarding firearms.
Loesch, a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights, took exception to Biden’s claim that attaching a brace to a pistol could alter the bullet’s caliber.
During a discussion on his party’s efforts towards gun control legislation, President Biden stated that they had made it more difficult for individuals to purchase stabilized braces. He went on to suggest that simply adding a brace to a firearm could somehow change the gun’s caliber, a statement that Loesch vehemently disagreed with.
Loesch took to Twitter to express her disagreement, saying, “This is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard a politician say about guns. A plastic brace on a gun does not change the gun’s CALIBER or rate of fire.” She was not alone in her criticism, as others also questioned the accuracy of the president’s claim.
BIDEN: “Made it harder for people buy stabilized brief— braces. Put a pistol on a brace, it turns into a gun, makes it more, you can have a higher-caliber weapon, higher-caliber bullet coming out of that gun.” ? pic.twitter.com/97si7QLrr8

A Twitter user with the handle @stevensongs humorously remarked, “I attached a pistol to a brace, and when it transformed into a higher-caliber gun, a higher-caliber bullet shot out and made this 26-inch hole in steel.” Other notable figures, including Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, also expressed their concerns about Biden’s statement.
Despite the criticism, the Democrat-controlled Senate is expected to block a bill passed by the Republican-led House of Representatives this week, which aims to overturn Biden’s ban on pistol braces. President Biden has also vowed to veto the legislation if it passes.
