“I Cannot Sit Idly By” -Texas Rep. Unleashes On DHS And Biden’s Lax Border Policies

Citing the risk to local Texas communities, Representative Pat Fallon (R-TX) said Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of Homeland Security, to end Biden’s “catch and release” approach to immigration policy.

The letter was sent after Mayorkas demanded Franklin County Sheriffs to free illegal immigrants into Texas communities.

In the letter, Fallon said “I cannot sit idly by while people in the Department of Homeland Security jeopardize the safety of my constituents. I urge Secretary Mayorkas to immediately revise the policies of catch and release that are threatening our communities.”

“If there is a need for a legislative fix, I stand ready to work with anyone who is willing to close the floodgates and put the lives and safety of American citizens first,” he added.

The letter went on to highlight instances when illegal immigrants had committed serious crimes. “I have no doubt that this situation will only get worse as the administration continues these policies. I urge you in the strongest way possible to end these practices immediately,” Fallon said.

Fallon’s criticisms are in line with a growing number of lawmakers and Governors who are calling out the Biden Administration, urging him to end his lax approach to immigration and apprehension of illegal immigrants.
