Kim Potter Found Guilty Of Manslaughter In Daunte Wright’s Death

On Thursday, Minneapolis Officer Kim Potter was found guilty on all charges related to the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright.

Altogether, Potter faces 25-year sentences for first and second-degree manslaughter charges.

It took the jury (6 men and 6 women) 27 hours to come to a verdict. When the defense requested Potter be released on a $100,000 bail before sentencing, the judge rejected the idea and ordered Potter to be taken into custody immediately.

Potter was charged after she mistook her weapon for a taser. This led to Wright being fatally shot while being arrested. Bodycam footage shows Wright yelling “Taser, taser taser” before shooting Wright.
