Former Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley announced her intention to seek the Republican nomination for the 2024 Presidential election on Tuesday.
Haley made a name for herself in South Carolina politics, becoming the youngest governor in the country when she was elected in 2010. Reelected in 2014, she held office until 2017 when President Donald Trump appointed her as United States Ambassador to the United Nations.

She said is a video statement, “some look at our past as evidence that America’s founding principles are bad; they say the promise of freedom is just made-up. Some think our ideas are not just wrong, but racist and evil. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

Nikki Haley’s forthright nature at the UN met with substantial recognition from conservative groups. She declared UNESCO as an “anti-semitic cesspool” and a “corrupt and politically biased” organization, voicing her support of the US embargo on Cuba and announcing that the US would not relent until Cuban citizens had their liberties restored. Furthermore, she made sure to highlight Israel’s rights against its opposers while persistently criticizing the Iranian state.

Appearing at the annual dinner of the American Enterprise Institute in October 2019, Nikki Haley criticized colleagues of hers who had sought to thwart President Trump’s agenda. She averred, “The president was the choice of the people, as designated by our founding charter. There is no valid policy disagreement that could justify circumventing the power and responsibility imposed on his office by the Constitution.”

At the event, Haley resolutely voiced her support for American values and took a firm stance against the ‘woke left’. As an image of President Biden, Vice-President Kamala Harris, Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was projected onto the screen, she proclaimed, “Certain people interpret America’s position as vulnerable. The socialist Left seeks to rewrite our history. China, Russia and other powerful forces believe they can intimidate us. Let me assure you: I do not tolerate bullies. And when you stand up against them wearing heels, they hurt more.”
