Psaki: White House Encourages Protests Outside Of Justice’s Homes

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the Former Vice President’s administration supports protests that are taking place outside Supreme Court Justice’s homes.

After a shocking leak of a draft of the Supreme Court’s majority opinion overturning Roe Vs. Wade, the nation has seen a wave of threats and intimidation directed at the Court and other pro-life nonprofits.

Psaki said during a press conference, “I think I said yesterday, but I’m happy to repeat because I think it’s important for everybody to hear that the president’s long-standing view has been that violence, threats, and intimidation of any kind have no place in political discourse. And we believe, of course, in peaceful protests.”

Psaki went on to say, “So, I know that there’s an outrage right now, I guess, about protests that have been peaceful to date, and we certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes. And that’s the president’s position.”

Responding to the protests, Senator Ted Cruz said on Tuesday, “It’s disgraceful that Democrats are championing the radicals who are protesting at Justices’ homes and protesting in churches.

On Sunday, Senator Chuck Grassley blasted the protests saying, “We can’t tolerate intimidation as a political tool. It’s one thing to peacefully demonstrate & another to undermine institutions like SCOTUS+harass justices at home bc of a decision u might not like. And ANYONE making threats of violence should be arrested & prosecuted.”
