On Sunday, Chris Cuomo denied allegations of sexual misconduct saying, “These apparently anonymous allegations are not true.”
On Saturday evening, Cuomo was fired from CNN, after the network looked further into Chris’ role in defending his brother and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who had been battling accusations of sexual misconduct.
As CNN has carried out its investigation, the network said they had come across “additional information” and will continue to investigate further, even with Chris no longer being affiliated with the network.
In a statement, Chris Cuomo’s attorney said, “To the extent that they were sent to CNN to negate what Chris Cuomo told his audience, he fully stands by his on-air statements about his connection to these issues, both professionally and in a profoundly personal way. If the goal in making these false and unvetted accusations was to see Mr. Cuomo punished by CNN, that may explain his unwarranted termination.”
