Biden (Again) Demonizes Republicans In Divisive Primetime Speech

During a primetime speech given on Capitol Hill, former Vice President Biden demonized republicans one day after former President Obama called for the end of demonizing political opponents.

Biden told voters on November 2nd to avoid “extreme MAGA Republicans,” saying they will move the country toward a “path of chaos.” During this 20-min. speech, Biden complained of the number of elected officials that are, as he called them, “election deniers.”

The speech was harshly criticized by Republicans. They focused in on the President misprioritizing issues in favor of harsh partisan rhetoric. Biden was also called out for not addressing what Americans consider the most important topics: inflation, border crisis, drugs, crime and foreign conflicts.

The content of Biden’s speech was reminiscent of his now-infamous September 1st “Continued Battle for the Soul of the Nation” speech where  he appeared before a blood-red background and flanked by Marines. In that speech he repeatedly targeted “MAGA Republicans,” saying they “represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

Shortly after Biden’s 9/1 speech a North Dakota man (age 41) murdered a teen (age 18) with whom he had an argument over politics. According to the probably-cause affidavit, the suspect admitted “he hit the pedestrian and that the pedestrian was part of a Republican extremist group.”

On Tuesday, Obama gave a stump speech in Nevada, saying the “demonizing” of political opponents “creates a dangerous climate.” Obama said,  “Elected officials who do not explicitly reject or participate in over-the-top rhetoric, if that’s what they’re doing instead, if they just ignore or make light of that kind of violence, or if they encourage their supporters to stand outside voting places armed with guns and dressed in tactical gear, if that’s the environment that we create, more people are going to get hurt.”

However, Biden seemed to not take his former boss’ advice. During his speech last night, Biden said, “This violence against Democrats, Republicans and nonpartisan officials just doing their jobs are the consequence of lies told for power and profit.” He also said, Lies of conspiracy and malice. Lies repeated over and over that generate a cycle of anger, hate, vitriol, and even violence.”

Biden went on to characterize Republicans as being a threat to democracy, He said the “overwhelming majority of Americans believe our democracy is at risk, that our democracy is under threat.” He claimed the threat is due to “the defeated former President of the United States refused to accept the results of the 2020 election.”

Biden also called “MAGA Republicans” fight for election integrity “damaging” “corrosive” and “destructive.” He said, “Instead of waiting until the election is over, they’re starting well before it. They’re starting now. They’ve emboldened violence and intimidation of voters and Election Officials. It’s estimated that there are more than 300 election deniers on the ballot all across America this year. We can’t ignore the impact this is having on our country. It’s damaging, is corrosive, and it’s destructive. And I want to be very clear, this is not about me. It’s about all of us.”
