During a press conference in Poland, Vice President Kamala Harris laughed when asked if America had plans to care for Ukrainian refugees if those refugees relocate to America.

Standing next to the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, Harris nervously smiled and laughed, after the question was asked. She and Duda made eye contact and Kamala made a joke. This took place after Kamala was asked a relevant and concerning question regarding the future of thousands of Ukrainian refugees.

Her joke was, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

Answering directly to the reporter, Duda said, “We are looking for international support because indeed the vast majority of Ukrainian refugees are coming to our country.”

Kamala composed herself enough to say, “As we have said many times through our work collectively in the UN through NATO, we will support Poland in terms of the burden it is facing and our collective responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of these refugees.”
