January 6 Committee member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) hinted to the Washington Post on Monday that lawmakers had uncovered more on former President Donald Trump than “just incitement.”
The congressman didn’t elaborate on what the committee had uncovered but that the former president’s actions were the focus of the inquiry from the start.
“The select committee has found evidence about a lot more than incitement here, and we’re gonna be laying out the evidence about all of the actors who were pivotal to what took place on Jan 6,” Raskin said.
“Donald Trump and the White House were at the center of these events. That’s the only way of really of making sense of them all,” the Democratic House representative added.
“The committee has found evidence of concerted planning and premeditated activity,” Raskin said today in a virtual discussion with the Washington Post.
According to The Hill, Thursday will bring the Jan 6 Committee hearings beginning. The committee has promised to lay out all of its findings on the individuals involved in the attack, including Trump. In addition, the nearly year-long investigation is supposed to bring witness testimony featuring new material previously unheard.
The hearing will be broadcast during primetime starting at 8 PM.
