Trump’s Base “Getting Stronger” Since He Left Office

During an appearance on MSNBC, Politico reporter Tara Palmeri said, “People don’t want to hear anything against Trump,” she added, “Actually, the more he stays out of the media, the more he becomes this martyr, this looming figure over the GOP.”

Palmeri maintained that former President Trump has only gained popularity since leaving office, a notion she realized during an anti-Liz Cheney rally in Wyoming. “I actually went out of my way to try to find someone who would defend her and I really could not,” Palmeri told MSNBC’s broadcaster.

The Politico reporter added that the “overwhelming” consensus in Wyoming is Cheney’s vote for impeachment was a betrayal against those who have voted for her in the past, “therefore she has to go.”

Palmeri asserted, “A lot of people said they aren’t really Republicans, that, like, they’re for Trump. That’s it. I think the base is getting stronger, truly. I think an impeachment would make him even more powerful.”
