Former U.S. House of Representatives member and former Democratic Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard slammed the Biden Administration for promoting “child abuse” as they advocate for using puberty blockers.

“The FDA made a disturbing, but not at all surprising, announcement just a few days ago about children’s health,” Gabbard declared. “Now, if you haven’t heard about it, or, if you missed it, it is because the mainstream media and the Biden-Harris administration have been completely silent on it, and this warning that the FDA issued was basically saying that puberty blockers can cause serious health risks for our kids. Unfortunately, at almost the exact same time the FDA issued this warning, Biden-Harris administration officials were making public statements actively promoting the use of puberty blockers and irreversible surgeries for kids.”

“Now, let’s be clear: this administration is dangerously promoting child abuse,” she blasted.

At the beginning of July, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issues a warning about puberty blocker ingredients known as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) substances. The report warned that the substance could trigger brain swelling, loss of vision, and serious risks for children injecting the hormone.

However, in mid-July, the United States assistant secretary for health and human services, Rachel (Richard) Levine, endorsed children receiving “gender-affirmation” care. Levine, the first transgender federal confirmed by the Senate, claimed the treatment was “life-saving, medically necessary, age-appropriate, and a critical tool for health care providers.”

“As a pediatrician, when it comes to making sure kids are healthy and happy, I know how important care that affirms someone’s true identity can be,” Levine said.

The Biden Administration’s Health and Human Services department designates “gender-affirming care” can include “top-surgery – creating male-typical chest or breast enhancement” and “bottom-surgery – surgery on genitals or reproductive organs.”

Levine told MSNBC, “We really want to debase our treatment and to affirm and to support and empower these youth, not to limit their participation in sports and even limit their ability to get gender-affirmation treatment in their state.”

In contrast, the Florida Department of Health contended that children under 18 should not receive hormone therapy or puberty blockers.

“Based on the currently available evidence ‘encouraging mastectomy, ovariectomy, uterine extirpation, penile disablement, tracheal shave, the prescription of hormones which are out of line with the genetic make-up of the child, or puberty blockers, are all clinical practices which run an unacceptably high risk of doing harm,’” Florida’s Department of Health stated.
