Controversial Georgia gubernatorial candidate Democrat Stacey Abrams said on Wednesday, “There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks.”

Abrams went on to say, “It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.”

Her seem to be directed at Georgia’s pro-life laws that were enacted proceeding the Supreme Court ruling which overturned of Roe v. Wade. Georgia had instituted an abortion law, called “Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act” that prohibits abortions once a baby’s heartbeat can be detected in the womb.
