The official Twitter account for the West Texas US Customs and Boarder Protection operations is set deactivated after the account featured criticism of former Vice President Biden’s border policies.

The tweet in question was a retweet of a former Trump administration policy adviser, Stephen Miller. West Texas CBP retweeted Miller’s comments that said, ” “Violent criminals lay waste to our communities undisturbed while the immense power of the state is arrayed against those whose only crime is dissent. The law has been turned from a shield to protect the innocent into a sword to conquer them.”

Another Tweet included the following quote from Miller’s account, “The media’s greatest power is its ability to frame what is a dire national crisis (eg ‘cops are racist’ summer ‘20) and what is not. Biden’s eradication of our border means we are no longer a Republic—he’s ended nearly 250 years of constitutional government. The media is silent.”

In response to the retweets, CBP commissioner Chris Magnus said the organization,  “has become aware of unauthorized and inappropriate content” posted to the account, and that CBP will “take action to deactivate the account and has referred the matter to Office of Professional Responsibility to investigate.”

He went on to say, “The tweets do not reflect the values of this administration and our work to rebuild a humane, orderly, and secure immigration system.”

Since taking office concerned Republicans have taken aim at Biden’s disastrous border policies. A Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) report said, since Biden has taken office, almost five million illegal immigrants have crossed into the United States. This number includes an estimated 900,000 that were able to slip past Border Control.

In a Tweet on Sunday, Miller wrote “Joe Biden’s soulless open border crusade is killing thousands of innocents. Death and destruction everywhere. But instead of going after the murderous cartels, they are going after agents for RTs of pro-border messages. The Biden Administration hates the law and law enforcement.”
