White House Yet to Decide if Trump Will Recieve Routine Intel Briefings

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that the Biden Administration has not yet decided if they will allow former President Donald Trump to receive routine intelligence briefings. “That’s under review, but there was not a conclusion last I asked,” Psaki told reporters.

It is standard that former Presidents receive regular briefings and maintain access to classified information.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Representative Adam Schiff told CBS last month that he doesn’t believe Trump should get regular intel briefs, “There’s no circumstance in which this president should get another intelligence briefing, not now, not in the future. I don’t think he can be trusted with it now and in the future, he certainly can’t be trusted.”

White House Chief of Staff told CNN on January 17, “We’ll certainly look for a recommendation from the intelligence professionals in the Biden administration.”
