On Sunday, a driver drove his vehicle through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing five and injuring 40.
The City of Wukesha posted on twitter, “At this time, we can confirm that 5 people are deceased and over 40 are injured. However, these numbers may change as we collect additional information. Many people have self-transported to area hospitals. The Police Department has the person of interest in custody.”

Currently, the city describes the situation as “fluid” and asked for people to pray for the families.
The footage available caputures images of a red SUV barreling down a heavily populated street containing parade members and spectators.
According to the fact-finding website Heavy.com, a suspect has been taken into custody. The suspect, a39-year old black male has been facing multiple felony charges and had been released on $500 and $1,000 bail just days before Sunday’s massacre.
So far, 12 children have been shuttled to the local hospital.
The city’s Mayor, Shawn Reilly said “Today our community faced horror and tragedy in what should have been a community celebration. I’m deeply saddened to know that so many in our community went to a parade but ended up dealing with injury and heartache.”
